Red Deer hospital expansion group to hold rally Saturday at noon
The Society for Hospital Expansion in Central Alberta (SHECA) is continuing its advocacy for an expansion to the Red Deer Regional Hospital, this time with a noon rally on Saturday, May 6 at City Hall Park.
In 2017, SHECA was formed to inform the community of the health care deficits that exist in central Alberta, and to advocate for hospital and health care program expansion in Red Deer, the group says.
“Both Government and Alberta Health Services have an urgent obligation to plan, fund and complete the expansion of the Red Deer Regional Hospital,” SHECA says.
“We demand high quality care. It is not a matter of if you will be in the hospital – it’s a matter of when. Why wait until it happens to you or your loved ones, when you can act today? No one deserves to suffer, wait long hours, or be forced to travel for services because they don’t live in Edmonton or Calgary. Let’s bring health care close to home.”
