Canadian Tire to purchase Bed, Bath & Beyond leases, relocate Mark’s in Red Deer

A major retail chain is stepping forward to take over the site of the recently shuttered Bed, Bath & Beyond (BBB) store in Red Deer at 5001 19 St., Unit 850.

Canadian Tire Corporation has agreed to acquire 10 strategic real estate leases formerly held by the home decor store for a total of $1.6 million.

In a statement to rdnewsNOW, the company clarifies that it plans to relocate the south Red Deer Mark’s location to the old BBB at Southpointe Common, not far from its current location next to the south Walmart.

It’s also said that the relocation will allow the south Red Deer Mark’s to upgrade from approximately 12,000 square feet to about 25,000.

Mark’s stores will also be relocated in Grande Prairie, Medicine Hat and Strathcona County, Alberta, as well as Langley, B.C. and Oakville Ont. At the other four lease locations, all in Ontario, Canadian Tire will establish four new Pro Hockey Life stores
