Apr 20, 2023 | 10:06 AM

A city-wide food drive for the Red Deer Food Bank is happening to close out the month of April.

Demand is high at the food bank, which is why the local Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is organizing the drive.

How to participate:

-Bags will be delivered to the doorsteps of homes the week of April 23

-Volunteers will begin picking up bags filled with food donations at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 29 and then delivering the food to the Red Deer Food Bank.

-Anyone who does not get a yellow bag in their mailbox is welcome to bring donations directly to the back entrance of the Red Deer Food Bank on Saturday, April 29 between 10:30 and noon.

-Any community members or groups that would like to assist in delivering or picking up bags are welcome to contact Jennifer Martens, the Red Deer Stake Food Drive Coordinator at rdfooddrive@gmail.com.

-Important items include pasta, cereal, rice, canned meat, canned vegetables, soup and peanut butter
