Officials at Westerner Park in Red Deer have announced that Arkells will be on the Main Stage at the Westerner Days Fair & Exposition this summer.

“Live music is a major contributor to the fair experience, and we wanted to focus on providing one really impactful show with Arkells,” said Mike Olesen, CEO of Westerner Park. “We also want to provide great value for our fair attendees, so concert tickets will start at just $34.99, and includes fair admission.”
Westerner Park officials say Arkells are widely considered one of the most passionate, exuberant and in-demand live bands working today. As radio mainstays, sports-sync shoe-ins and curious students of culture, officials note, Arkells have remained ever present – building awareness and personal community experiences around their live shows and new music at every turn.
The most emblematic example of this being “The Rally,” Arkells’ beloved hometown concert event that was hailed as one of the biggest headline shows in the country, with record breaking attendance.
“Red Deer, it’s been too long, and we needed to change that,” says frontman Max Kerman. “We’re not passing through on the way to Calgary, we are bringing the party to Westerner Days for a night to remember. Our only summer rock ‘n’ roll show in Alberta? Sign us up.”
Westerner Park officials say Arkells continue to unleash new music and international tour dates in support of their Blink Once & Blink Twice acclaimed companion albums: featuring collaborations with everyone from Tegan and Sara to K. Flay, Cold War Kids to Aly & AJ and Wesley Schultz of The Lumineers.
All Westerner Days tickets and passes, including concert tickets, go on sale March 28 at 10:00am at Tickets Alberta. Tickets range from $34.99 to $69.99 including fair admission, a $19.99 value for adults.
In response to feedback from last year, Westerner Park officials say there will now be a combo savings pack for Arkells + Ride All Day wristband + Admission.
