Get into the Groove! with Family Day at the MAG

This Family Day, the Red Deer Museum + Art Gallery invites you and your family to celebrate their 50th anniversary with fun activities for all ages! Take a instant family selfie, participate in a sketch party (sketch your favorite artifact on display), and groove to 1970s disco music under a disco ball with ‘On The Mark’ DJ. Write your best wishes on paper candles and add it to their cake mural; prizes will be given out for best outfits! Servus Credit Union presents, “Get into the Groove: Happy 50^th Birthday to the MAG” from 1-4pm on Monday, February 20^th, 2023. Thanks to Servus Credit Union admission to this event is free and for all ages. The MAG is located at 4525 47A Avenue, Red Deer, AB.

Like to dress up? Strike a pose with our Polaroid cameras and get an instant picture! Need some inspiration for your 1970s outfit? Check out some of the styles uploaded to the event webpage here. Are you a hands-on person? Create POP ART cans, peace plates, collaborative macrame art, and add paper candles to make a wish for the MAG on the giant 50^th birthday cake mural. Bowl for beavers and show off your hula hoop skills!

Entries must be returned to the museum by no later than 4pm on February 20, 2023 to be entered into the draw to win prizes. All ages are welcome (and encouraged!) to participate.
