Wetaskiwin RCMP lay criminal charges after routine traffic stop

In a routine traffic stop, Westakiwin RCMP laid charges on two Red Deerians who police say attempted to flee.
On Jan. 25, 2023, at approximately 7:11 a.m., RCMP say they attempted to pull over a black Dodge Caravan for a traffic safety violation.
They say the Caravan sped off westbound on Highway 13 from Westaskiwin. Covert units were then deployed to the area and the vehicle was followed to Red Deer. When the vehicle stopped, Mounties state two individuals were safely apprehended.
