The Board of Trustees for Red Deer Public Schools was recently presented with the district’s Facility Maintenance Plan for this year.

District officials say this includes the Infrastructure Maintenance and Renewal (IMR) program for a total of $1.4 million, which is provided by the provincial government. Officials say the IMR criteria is clear and reported annually to Alberta Education. These projects are said to be prioritized with health and safety issues in school buildings addressed first.

In addition, officials say Capital Maintenance and Renewal (CMR) money allowed the Division to complete $972,224 in improvements to facilities.

Projects include:

  • Reconfiguration of main entrances for school security purposes at Mattie McCullough, GW Smith and Pines Alternative School
  • Roofing work at Gateway Christian and Eastview Middle School
