Local representation at the 2022 World Junior A Challenge

A member of the Alberta Junior Hockey League’s (AJHL) Blackfalds Bulldogs as well as a fellow AJHL player from Red Deer, are among those competing at the 2022 World Junior A Challenge underway in Cornwall, Ontario this week.

The event which began on December 11, runs until December 18 and features five teams, including Team Canada West, Team Canada East, the United States, Sweden, and Latvia.

Tanner Willick, a 2003-born defenceman for the Blackfalds Bulldogs is on Team Canada West. The 5’9”, 157 pound left handed shooter from Saskatoon, SK, has played 30 games for the Bulldogs so far this season, compiling three goals and 27 assists for a total of 30 points during that time.

Meantime, Red Deer native Ty Daneault, a 2004-born member of the AJHL’s Drumheller Dragons, is also on Team Canada West. The 5’11”, 175 pound forward has played 29 games for the Dragons so far this season, compiling 21 goals and 15 assist for 36 points during that time.
