Red Deer RCMP investigating firearms complaint in Highland Green

Local Mounties are looking for suspects following an alleged firearms incident in Red Deer’s Highland Green neighbourhood early Sunday morning.

On November 27, 2022, at 4:20 a.m., Red Deer RCMP received what they described as a credible 911 call of a firearms complaint.

RCMP asked residents in the area of Hermary Street between 59 Avenue and Halladay Avenue near the Telus Tower, to shelter in place as police investigated.

Mounties lifted the shelter in place for residents of Hermary Street later in the morning.

RCMP continued to have a presence in the area throughout the day though as they continued to investigate the incident.

At this time, no suspects have been located and police continue to work with witnesses to isolate descriptions.
