Dr. Martha Kostuch Scholarship

The Parkland Airshed Management Zone (PAMZ) has announced it will be accepting applications for the 2023 Dr. Martha Kostuch Scholarship beginning on January 15, 2023.

Officials say the scholarship celebrates the legacy of environmental advocate Dr. Martha Kostuch. During her 30-year career, Dr. Kostuch made a significant impact on how environmental management policy was developed in Alberta. Officials say her work influenced a shift towards shared governance, recognizing there is a shared responsibility for all sectors to act as good stewards of the environment.

The Dr. Martha Kostuch Environmental Education Fund was permanently established to honour her memory and to help students from the PAMZ region pursue an education that will benefit the environment.

The award is presented annually to a deserving, graduating high school student in recognition of their outstanding service and leadership, as well as their potential for future achievement in environmental stewardship.
