Six Red Deer businesses receive prestigious awards at the 2022 Business of the Year Awards

Six local recipients received prestigious awards on Wednesday at the Red Deer & District Chamber of Commerce’s Business of the Year Awards.

Held at the Red Deer Polytechnic Arts Centre, officials say it was the 39th annual “celebration of business excellence”.

The 2022 winners are:

  • Small Business of the Year: The Red Deer Mechanic
  • Business of the Year: Central Alberta Co-op Ltd
  • New Business of the Year: Hello Beautiful Bridal Boutique
  • Emerging Business of the Year: Recovery Lab
  • The Non-Profit Award: Central Alberta Humane Society
  • Business Leader of the Year: Donna Purcell – Donna Purcell QC Law

The Chamber explained that 92 businesses were nominated by the public. An independent adjudication committee, comprised of local business leaders, then narrowed down the nominees to 18 finalists and conducted a comprehensive evaluation to determine the winners.
