A four-year jail term has been handed to a Stettler man charged in the death of a man found deceased in the community last spring.
Byron Ervin Dinsmore, 23, was convicted on one count of manslaughter with the use of a firearm in Red Deer provincial court this week, while a charge of interfere with a dead body was withdrawn. He was also given a 10-year firearms prohibition on all weapons, and a lifetime prohibition on prohibited weapons during his sentencing on Oct. 11, 2022.
It was on April 14, 2022 when Mounties received a report of a deceased person at a home on 50A Avenue in Stettler.
Police say the victim was a 33-year-old male, but his name was not released.
