Central Alberta Pregnancy Care Centre hosting Annual Fall Fundraising Banquet

Oct 13, 2022 | 10:04 AM

The Central Alberta Pregnancy Care Centre is hosting its Annual Fall Fundraising Banquet later this month.

The theme of this year’s event on Thursday, October 27, 2022, at 6:00 p.m., is Moments in Time. Those who attend will learn more about how the Central Alberta Pregnancy Care Centre supports local communities through the programs offered, ways you can be involved, and hear the touching life stories of very special clients who have benefited immensely from the Centre.

This event is FREE to attend, however, registration is required to hold your seat and secure your meal by visiting pregnancycare.ca/fall-fundraiser. This year, a mouth-watering Chicken Supreme with poultry jus, served alongside Hasselback potatoes, will be served, along with coconut curry peas and carrots, mixed green salad and oven-baked rustic bread to start. The meal will then be capped off with what is described as a delectable dessert of berries and cream vanilla sponge.

If you have any special dietary requirements, you’re asked to indicate what those are at the time of registration so accommodations can be made. The event also includes a Live Silent Auction showcasing many items community supporters have generously donated.

Organizers say the Central Alberta Pregnancy Care Centre extends grace and provides education and ongoing compassionate support before, during, and after pregnancy. All CAPCC programs are free, confidential and offered in what is described as a safe and non-judgmental environment regardless of age, gender, race, or religion.

Women, men, and families can access various support programs within the Red Deer, Olds, Rocky Mountain House, Drumheller, and Stettler communities. These include pregnancy options support, male mentorship, baby and maternity clothing, post-abortion support, support for past sexual abuse/trauma, parenting programs, education on healthy relationships, and referrals for community resources.

Officials say the Red Deer location also has a maternity home for pregnant mothers and mothers and babies. It is a two-phase program offering a nurturing home, supporting healthy pregnancy and positive parenting.

The Aerie is staffed 24/7 and has the capacity for up to 11 young women and their infants. During their pregnancy, eligible residents enter phase 1 of the program and move into phase 2 when their infant is approximately six months of age. Residents who continue to meet program outcomes are invited to stay until their child is about two years of age as they continue to pursue education and/or employment while strengthening their parenting and life skills.

If you or your business is interested in becoming a sponsor, the organization has various sponsorship opportunities, starting at $420 for a table sponsor. Visit pregnancycare.ca/fall-fundraiser to learn more about sponsorship. Additionally, the organization is still looking for additional items for their Silent Auction. If you have an item or service available to donate to the auction, call 403-343-1611 or email grants@pregnancycare.ca.

Officials say every dollar counts and will provide access to much-needed support and education to those facing an unexpected pregnancy.
