Nominations open for Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee for Sports

The Alberta Sports Hall of Fame is accepting nominations for Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee Medal for Sports.

The medal recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to their province, region, or sporting community. The recipient will have helped build the Alberta of today.

Eligible individuals are those who are Canadian citizens or permanent residents with a tangible link to Alberta. The recipient must have been alive on February 6, 2022, the 70th anniversary of Her Majesty’s accession to the throne. They must have also made a significant contribution to sports in Canada, Alberta, or a particular Albertan region or community.

To submit a nomination, please email the Alberta Sports Hall of Fame at info@albertasportshall.ca.

The email must include the following information: the nominee’s first and last name, age, gender, field of achievement, home address, province, city, postal code, phone number, email address, and a short description about why they are being nominated.

The medal will be presented during our 2022 Induction Ceremony on October 21 at the Red Deer Polytechnic Arts Centre. The submission deadline is September 23, 2022.
