Erratic driver arrested by Red Deer RCMP after three hours of close calls
Red Deer RCMP say that between 1 and 4 p.m. on Aug. 23, they received several reports of an erratic driver moving through the city.
This ultimately led to an arrest after what began with several concerned citizens called 9-1-1 to report a black pick-up truck passing others on the shoulder and in the grass, cutting other drivers off, and speeding.
RCMP responded along with the Red Deer Crime Reduction Team (CRT), General Duty, Police Dog Services (PDS), and RCMP Air Support.
Information provided by the public led police to identify the truck’s plate as stolen, eventually leading police to locate the vehicle and identify the male driver. The driver then abandoned the truck, which was determined to be stolen.
