Red Deer rental rates continue upward trend

Rental rates continued their upward trend in Red Deer last month.

According to the latest National Rent Report from Rentals.ca, the average rent for a one-bedroom unit in Red Deer in July was $1,102, up 4.7 per cent from June. Statistics for Red Deer in July 2021, however, were unavailable at the time of publication.

A two-bedroom unit in Red Deer, meanwhile, rented for an average of $1,198 per month in July, up 1.2 per cent from June and 13.8 per cent from the same month last year, placing Red Deer in 30th on the list of 35 Canadian cities included in the report.

Elsewhere in Alberta, Calgary placed 21st on the list with an average rent of $1,583 per month for a one-bedroom unit in July, and $1,934 per month for a two-bedroom.

Lethbridge placed 31st on the list with an average rent of $1,089 per month for a one-bedroom unit in July and $1,236 per month for a two-bedroom place.

Edmonton was 32nd on the list with an average rent of $1,054 per month for a one-bedroom unit in July and $1,333 per month for a two-bedroom unit.

Lloydminster, AB was 35th on the list with an average rent of $836 per month for a one-bedroom unit in July and $977 per month for a two-bedroom unit.

The average rent for all Canadian properties listed on Rentals.ca in July 2022 was $1,934 per month, up 10.4 per cent annually, and up 2.6 per cent monthly.

Vancouver topped the list with an average rent of $2,500 per month for a one-bedroom unit in July and $3,630 for a two-bedroom unit.
