Kinsmen & Kinettes slo-pitch tourney raises funds for YouthHQ

The Red Deer Kinsmen, in partnership with the Red Deer Kinettes, held their second annual co-ed slo-pitch tournament this weekend.

Eighteen teams took part with games Friday through Sunday at All-Star Park in Blackfalds.

“YouthHQ does tons for kids in the community, and they have Camp Alexo out west, which we support as well,” said Wade Nicks, Kinsmen member.

“There are a lot of kids who are less fortunate, for a variety of reasons, and don’t have the same opportunities as others. Part of our mandate is to ensure they do have those.”
