Rebels earn another come from behind overtime victory
Make that five wins-in-a row for the Red Deer Rebels after a 5-4 overtime victory over the Lethbridge Hurricanes at the Peavey Mart Centrium Friday evening.
It’s also the second game-in-a-row that Red Deer has come from behind to win in overtime after defeating Edmonton in the same fashion to start the week on Sunday.
Scoring began in the first period when Red Deer’s Talon Brigley beat Hurricanes netminder Jared Picklyk for his eighth goal of the season, unassisted at 6:42 to put the home team up 1-0.
The Rebels would then go up 2-0 when Kalan Lind picked up a power play goal at 17:41 for his 20th of the season, assisted by Christoffer Sedoff and Ben King. The goal followed a roughing penalty to the Cane’s Kade Nolan.
