Rebels win fourth straight over Tigers
The Red Deer Rebels continued their winning ways over the Medicine Hat Tigers Friday night with a 3-0 win at the Peavey Mart Centrium.
Red Deer’s fourth straight victory against Medicine Hat puts the team in a positive spot after back-to-back losses against Lethbridge last weekend. Leading the league with 96 points, the Rebels Arshdeep Bains also reached another milestone with his 250th game to open the scoring.
The first period was a slow one with just one power play opportunity for each team but no goals scored. However, at the 20-minute mark, the Tigers and the Rebels both received a penalty leaving them to begin the second period with one man down each.
Red Deer doubled Medicine Hat with shots on goal 10-5 after 20 minutes.
