Red Deer average rents lower last month but still higher than last year

Average rents in Red Deer last month are down from the month before, but still higher than the year prior.

According to the latest national Rent Report from rentals.ca, the average rent for a one bedroom unit in Red Deer in February was $945 per month, down 3.08 per cent from January, but still up 2.16 per cent from February 2021.

Meanwhile, the average rent for a two bedroom unit in Red Deer in February was $1,050 per month. That’s down 1.32 per cent from January, but still up 5.53 per cent from February of last year.

Red Deer placed 32nd on the list of 35 Canadian cities included in last month’s report.

Elsewhere in Alberta, Calgary placed 26th on the list with an average rent of $1,267 per month for a one bedroom unit and $1,514 for a two bedroom.

Edmonton was 29th on the list with an average rent of $1,038 per month for a one bedroom unit and $1,257 for a two bedroom.

Lethbridge placed 30th on the list with an average rent of $1,000 per month for a one bedroom unit and $1,155 for a two bedroom.

Grande Prairie was 34th on the list with an average rent of $883 per month for a one bedroom unit and $1,084 for a two bedroom.

Lloydminster, AB placed 35th on the list, with an average rent of $739 per month for a one bedroom unit and $851 for a two bedroom.

Vancouver topped the list with an average rent of $2,239 per month for a one bedroom unit and $3,050 per month for a two bedroom place.
