ATV thieves in Innisfail charged

Two men from Red Deer and Clearwater County were arrested and charged for stealing an ATV and attempting to flee with it.

On March 4, Innisfail RCMP were called to a rural address where two suspects had allegedly stolen an ATV and were reportedly attempting to steal fuel. The suspects were confronted by local property owners and the suspects fled on the ATV, according to police. RCMP members contained the area and requested assistance from the RCMP Police Dog Service. Both suspects were located by police and arrested without incident.

A 40-year-old man from Red Deer has been charged with the following offences:

  • Theft of a Motor Vehicle
  • Break and Enter with Intent
  • Mischief over $5000 (Damage to Property)
  • Three Provincial driving infractions under the Traffic Safety Act;

He has been held in custody pending a Judicial Interim Release hearing this March 11.

A 39-year-old man from Clearwater County has been charged with the following offences:

  • Theft of a Motor Vehicle
  • Break and Enter with Intent
  • Mischief over $5000 (Damage to Property)
  • One Provincial driving infraction under the Traffic Safety Act;

He was released from custody on $300 cash bail with conditions. His next court appearance is set for March 28.
