Companion walk in Lacombe on Feb. 27 for Coldest Night of the Year event
In conjunction with The Mustard Seed’s Coldest Night of the Year event later this month, a separate walk for the same cause is being held in Lacombe.
Coldest Night of the Year goes Feb. 26 in Red Deer, while A Better World Canada will host its second annual companion event — the Cold Weather Walk for the Homeless — Feb. 27 at 1 p.m. going around Cranna Lake.
Participants are asked to meet at the entrance at 42 Woodland Drive by the corner of Cedar Crescent. The route is approximately two kilometres. A post-event get-together will be held at the Lacombe Memorial Centre.
The event is intended to support people experiencing homelessness in central Alberta, with funds raised helping The Mustard Seed provide shelter, clothing and meals to those who need it, as well as continue its youth hot lunch program.
