Central Alberta Soroptomists accepting applications for annual awards

Soroptimist International of Central Alberta is now accepting applications for its Live Your Dream Awards, Violet Richardson Awards and the Ruby Award – For Women helping Women. The deadline for all award applications is December 31, 2021.

The Live Your Dream awards are granted to a woman who has primary financial responsibility for herself and her dependents, is enrolled or attending an undergraduate degree program or skills/training program and shows a financial need. These cash awards enable women to offset any costs associated with their education. Applications are available from Melody Klinck at melody@inspiringvirtues.ca

The Violet Richardson Award is a recognition program for young women ages 14-17 engaged in volunteer action within their communities or schools. Projects that benefit women and girls are especially valued. There will be two awards this year and the club presents $500 to the winner and $500 to the charity of her choice. Applications are available from Sue Barthel at susanbarthel1@gmail.com

The Ruby Award honours women who are making extraordinary differences in the lives of other women. Some women work to improve conditions for women and girls through their personal or volunteer efforts; others do so through professional avenues. This recipient will be a woman who would inspire and encourage other women and has worked to improve the lives of women and girls.
