Red Deer RCMP investigating armed car-jacking
Two people are in hospital being treated for injuries following a pair of armed car-jackings that ended in a two-vehicle crash in downtown Red Deer Monday.
On Sept. 27, at 5:24 p.m., Red Deer RCMP received a 911 call of an armed car-jacking that had just occurred in the area of 50 Avenue in Red Deer.
The Mountie’s investigation indicates a male suspect is believed to have been involved in an armed car-jacking in the City of Lacombe that was brought to the attention of the RCMP at approximately 4:35 p.m.—where a “be on the lookout for” (BOLO) had been issued by Lacombe Police Service.
Police believe the male suspect abandoned the stolen vehicle associated to the BOLO, then shortly before 5:24 p.m., while armed with a firearm, stole a white Ford car and fled northbound on Gaetz Avenue.
