Driver wanted in hit-and-run of teenage skateboarder
Red Deer RCMP are seeking the public’s help in identifying a driver involved in a hit and run incident in the West Park neighbourhood.
Police say shortly before 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 9, a teenager was skateboarding westbound along 43 street. When he entered the crosswalk to cross 54 ave, he collided with a white SUV. The SUV then proceeded to make a right turn onto 43 street and drove away from the scene.
While the teen on the skateboard only sustained minor injuries, police are hoping the driver of the vehicle will come forward or the public will be able to identify them.
The vehicle is described as a white SUV, possibly a Jeep Compass, last seen driving eastbound on 43 street.
