Heritage Day celebrations at the MAG

Come Aug. 2, celebrate Heritage Day with the Red Deer Museum + Art Gallery (MAG).

The praires and folk art will be front and centre within the museum, with live music by local folk musician Mike Szabo, sack races, and DIY folk art, among other things.

“We are happy to be offering an in-person event this year,” says Lynn LeCorre, Education Coordinator. “The prairie theme coincides with our A Prairie Vernacular exhibit, a great art exhibit on folk art. Come join us for art, ice cream cups and live entertainment by local talent, Mike Szabo.”

The MAG will also be giving away three MAG art kits and a free family membership to the MAG throughout the event.

Additionally, you can check out the permanent exhibit at the MAG, Remarkable Red Deer: Stories from the Heart of the Parkland, which covers 440 square metres of exhibition space.
