Red Deer man wins $1 million on LOTTO MAX
A Red Deer man is $1 million richer after striking it lucky on the June 8 LOTTO MAX.
Darrin MacDonald told the Western Canada Lottery Corporation he thought the ticket checker was broken when he saw multiple zeroes on the screen.
“I couldn’t believe it at first. I scanned the ticket and thought for sure the machine was just broken and showing random numbers,” he said. “I took the ticket to the store clerk afterwards and there it was. I won a million dollars!”
MacDonald, who purchased his ticket (with the extra) at the Sobeys Gaetz South, says he hasn’t made plans for the windfall just yet.
