15U AAA Braves now 8-0 on the season

The 15U AAA Red Deer Ernco Braves are now 8-0 on the season after four more wins this past weekend.

The Braves started their big weekend by blanking the Sherwood Park Athletics 2-0 on Saturday.

Tanner Morrow threw a gem for Red Deer, allowing zero runs and just three hits while striking out 12 Sherwood Park batters over seven innings.

Nathan Flewelling led Red Deer with two hits in three at bats.

Game two on Saturday saw Red Deer defeat Sherwood Park 7-2.

The game was tied at two with Red Deer batting in the top of the sixth when Jake Brooks singled on a 0-2 count, scoring two runs.

The Braves then scored three runs in the seventh inning to pull away for the win.

Flewelling earned the victory on the hill for Braves as he went seven innings, allowing six hits and two runs while striking out five.

In their third game of the weekend on Sunday, pitcher Jake Brooks didn’t allow a single run and gave up just four hits as Red Deer defeated the Athletics 3-0.

Brooks struck out 14, while Hudson Kozicki sat down five for Sherwood Park.

Morrow led Red Deer with two hits in two at bats.

Game four saw Red Deer nab a 5-3 win over the Athletics.

The game was tied at three with Red Deer batting in the top of the seventh when Addison Giesbrecht drew a walk, scoring one run.

The Braves had tallied three runs in the fifth inning to start their late game rally.

Wyatt McKeen was the winning pitcher for Red Deer, allowing just one hit and two runs over one inning, striking out two and walking one. Coumont pitched the first inning and a number of pitchers entered the game as relief, with Giesbrecht, Evan Russell, Noah Nakonechny and Brett Hall helping to secure the victory.
