A one-week trial has been scheduled for a Ponoka man charged with first-degree murder in a Wetaskiwin homicide last year.
Ryan Jake Applegarth, 28, will stand trial in Wetaskiwin Court of Queen’s Bench from Feb. 14-18, 2022.
Applegarth is charged in the death of a 34-year-old man found deceased at a Wetaskiwin residence on Jan. 3, 2020.
Applegarth is also scheduled for a preliminary hearing later this year in relation to the death of a woman in Ponoka last year. The hearing scheduled for Nov. 2-3, 2021, will determine if the matter has enough evidence to go to trial.
