Rocky RCMP Report: April 9-15

This is a report released to the media from the Rocky Mountain House (RMH) RCMP giving a brief description of various crimes and call-ins, both solved and unsolved throughout the community between the dates of April 9- 15, 2021

Not all crimes reported are listed in this report.

April 9

10:40 A.M. – Report of someone breaking into an oil lease site in Clearwater County and stealing 400-500 litres of fuel.

1:46 P.M. – Report of a suspicious abandoned vehicle parked outside of a residence in RMH. The investigation revealed that the white 2005 GMC pickup truck had been reported stolen from Red Deer over 2 weeks ago. It was towed and the owner was notified.

April 11

11:30 P.M. – Police stopped a vehicle in RMH after it was observed with only one headlight. The driver was suspended from driving and was given a violation ticket along with his vehicle being seized for 30 days

April 12

1:51 A.M. – 911 call of a neighbor of a resident of O’Chiese First Nations Reserve, outside yelling threats.

10:08 A.M. – Report of fraud from an elderly RMH resident who advised that a call was received from VISA advising they wanted Google Play cards to pay for debt. The complainant purchased $3,000 worth of cards and gave the numbers to an unknown person who stayed on the phone with the victim. Complainant will advise the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre as well.

12:48 P.M. – Call of a speeding 2004 grey DODGE Ram speeding in the school zone in Caroline.

8:16 P.M. – Complaint of an assault at a residence in Clearwater County. Police attended and conducted an investigation. Charges are pending against an adult female.

April 13

00:09 A.M. – Police attended a residence in RMH and arrested an intoxicated adult male after it was reported that he had kicked the front door in and assaulted another male. Charges are pending.

8:42 A.M. – 2009 black DODGE Ram stolen from a residence in the area of Range Road 8-5 & Twp Rd 38-2, Clearwater County. The owner located his truck parked on the side of the road, a few kilometers away. A suspect has been identified and the investigation is continuing.

12:43 P.M. – B&E reported to a vacant residence near Range Road 7-2 & Twp Rd 40-0, Clearwater County. Window was smashed.

7:10 P.M. – Rocky RCMP, Fire, & EMS responded to 911 calls of a 2 vehicle collision on the Hwy #11A bridge over the North Saskatchewan River. Investigation revealed that a car was travelling westbound and had crossed the center line when it collided with an eastbound pickup truck. The driver of the car was declared deceased at the scene while the occupants of the truck were transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The investigation is continuing.

10:49 P.M. – Complaint of an assault at a local RMH Motel. Under investigation.

11:48 P.M. – RMH Crime Reduction Unit stopped a vehicle in RMH. An adult male passenger was arrested for “Failing to comply with a Court Order.” He was remanded into custody following a Judicial Interim Release hearing.

April 14

7:25 A.M. – 911 call of persons chased by other individuals in a pickup truck on the O’Chiese First Nations Reserve. One person reportedly pointed a firearm and fired a shot at their vehicle. Police are investigating.

8:19 A.M. – Complaint from a RMH business advising of threats received.

April 15

2:40 P.M. – An adult male was arrested in RMH after being found in possession of a stolen licence plate. He was released on an Appearance Notice to appear in court on a later date.
