Penhold offering household use access to multiplex fitness centre
Establishing a household-use facility rental program has allowed management at the Penhold Multiplex Fitness Centre to avoid a third shut-down after the government announced tightened restrictions on indoor fitness April 6.
In addition to the arena and gymnasium rentals, there are now multiple fitness options as well as walking track rentals available in accordance with AHS guidelines. The program is intended for single household use and is expected to be a cost-effective way to allow same household contacts access to recreation and fitness opportunities.
“We understand the importance of physical fitness to our well-being and that not everyone has access to equipment at home,” says Penhold Mayor Mike Yargeau in a release. “Our Alberta weather can be unpredictable and use of the indoor facilities can make it easier for people to stay moving.”
The Penhold Multiplex Fitness Centre is currently available for rentals from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. weekdays and 9:45 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. on Saturdays. All rentals are in 60-minute time blocks and users must be from the same household.
