Westerner Park expands volunteer program
A renewed emphasis on volunteerism will be in place at Westerner Park moving forward as officials there continue their efforts in refocusing the organization.
A Volunteer Advisory Committee has been created to help support Westerner Park in achieving its strategic goals and will be recruiting for several positions. Westerner Park’s volunteer mission is to ensure volunteers feel rewarded for their effort, enjoy their time, and want to continue their service.
Officials plan to obtain a clear understanding of the motivation of volunteers and ensure that their efforts are effectively and efficiently used to meet the goals of the organization. The new Volunteer Advisory Committee will be responsible for providing the successful delivery of a sustainable volunteer program with a primary focus on coordinating with Westerner Park staff in the program’s creation, development and organization.
“We engage the community through volunteerism which provides our organization with a broader perspective and bolsters our expertise,” says Christine Lindsay, Workforce Manager, in a press release. “Every single volunteer will have purpose and will be recognized as we know, and understand the value of their time and effort to our organization.”
