RCMP investigating fatal pedestrian collision in Maskwacis

RCMP are investigating following a fatal pedestrian collision in Maskwacis.

Mounties responded at 8:55 p.m. Sunday to reports of an adult male who had been struck on Highway 2A, just north of Highway 611.

Police say their investigation indicates the male was attempting to cross the highway when he was struck. He was declared deceased on scene as a result of his injuries.

Mounties say the driver of the vehicle involved remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.

Traffic was diverted for approximately two hours while the RCMP conducted a scene examination.
