Red Deer with 240 active COVID-19 cases as of Monday

Alberta reported another 639 cases of COVID-19 on Monday.

That’s out of 9,838 test results over the past 24 hours for a positivity rate of 6.1 per cent.

There are now 13,917 active cases in Alberta, down 199 from Sunday.

The province reported another 1,815 recoveries on Monday to bring Alberta’s total to 96,867.

The number of Albertans hospitalized due to COVID-19 sits at 811, an increase of 17. That includes 130 people in intensive care, two more than Sunday.

Another 23 deaths from COVID-19 were reported Friday to bring Alberta’s total to 1,307.

In Red Deer, the number of active cases as of Monday sits at 240, down two from Sunday. There have been 1,379 recoveries, an increase of 12, as the total number of COVID-19 cases attributed to the city rose by 10 to 1,629.

Red Deer County has 51 active cases of COVID-19 as of Monday, same as Sunday, while Sylvan Lake has 37, a decrease of two.

There are 71 active cases in Clearwater County (Rocky Mountain House), an increase of 11.

Lacombe County has 31 active cases, down one, and the city of Lacombe has 37, down five.

Ponoka County saw its active case count go from 514 on Sunday to 485 on Monday, a decrease of 29.

Mountain View County has 26 active cases, down five, Olds has 33, up two, and Kneehill County remains with 12. Stettler and County held steady with six active cases.

The Central Zone as a whole has 1,472 active cases as of Monday with 81 hospitalizations, including 16 who remain in intensive care at Red Deer Regional Hospital. There have been 56 deaths in the zone from COVID-19.
