Hinton RCMP rescue overdue Christmas tree seekers
Mounties in west central Alberta say a pair of Christmas tree seekers who’d become stranded while out looking in a rural location were later located safe and sound.
Hinton RCMP was called about the missing pair at around 6 p.m. on Sunday.
Police say the pair, who are family members, became lost in the bush after leaving their vehicle when it got stuck in the snow. One occupant was able to contact police with their cell phone, allowing them to determine an approximate location.
RCMP Police Dog Services (PDS) as well as assistance from the Edmonton Police Service (EPS) Air 1 helicopter were deployed to assist in the search efforts.
