Flu shot numbers through the roof in Alberta

Albertans are turning out in droves to get their flu shot.

The latest influenza data from Alberta Health Services shows over 1.33 million doses of the influenza vaccine have been administered across the province from Sept. 27 through November 28.

A total of 1.43 million vaccine doses were administered throughout the entire 2019-20 flu season in Alberta.

The numbers in the Central zone are also through the roof, with over 122,000 vaccine doses administered this year compared to 126,288 all of last season.

Alberta still has yet to record a lab-confirmed case of influenza this season. There had been 464 cases detected at this point a year ago.
