Rocky RCMP Report November 6-18

This is a report released to the media from the Rocky Mountain House RCMP giving a brief description of various crimes and call-ins, both solved and unsolved throughout the community between the dates of November 6- 18

Not all crimes reported are listed in this report.

November 6

12:06 P.M. – Report of a 1999 black Dodge Ram stolen while the owner was out hunting on Range Road 6-0 & Hwy #11, east of Rocky Mountain House. A shotgun and a .22 rifle were also in the truck.

1:58 P.M. – B&E reported to a residence on the O’Chiese First Nations Reserve. A television was stolen.

November 7

00:30 A.M. – Report of a 2019 red Dodge Ram stolen from a residence in Rocky Mountain House.

12:29 P.M. – Wallet stolen from an unlocked vehicle overnight while parked at a Rocky Mountain House bar. Bank card was used at a local convenience store. The cards have been cancelled.

November 8

3:34 A.M. – Report of an assault which occurred in Clearwater County. Police attended and arrested an individual for the assault, uttering threats, mischief, and possession of a weapon. Charges are pending.

November 9

8:02 A.M. – Attempted B&E to a Rocky Mountain House business located in the industrial area. Axe located which was used to try and break into shop door.

9:42 A.M. – Stolen 2014 Fusion 5th wheel trailer stolen from campsite on Sec. Hwy #591.

November 10

8:45 A.M. – 10 mailboxes broken into at the Caroline Post Office overnight.

9:07 A.M. – Hockey bag stolen from a pickup truck overnight at a residence in Rocky Mountain House. The contents were found strewn about in a nearby parking lot.

9:32 A.M. – Theft of a 1949 Hiawatha Trojan Mini Motor Bike taken from a facility in Rocky Mountain House.

1:28 P.M. – Vehicle broken into overnight at a residence on River Road, Clearwater County. The driver’s window was smashed and the vehicle was rifled through. Sunglasses and the garage door opener were stolen.

9:09 P.M. – Call of a male seen attempting to break into a mailbox on Twp Rd 38-0 & Range Road 4-4A, Clearwater County. The vehicle was described as a “blacked out” Dodge truck with a light bar.

November 11

9:35 A.M. – Shoplifter reported at a Rocky Mountain House grocery store. The female stole meat and fled the store. Under investigation.

November 12

8:34 A.M. – Vehicle broken into at a residence in Rocky Mountain House. The garage door opener and lottery tickets were stolen.

8:50 A.M. – Stolen trailer recovered on Hwy #11 near Condor.

November 13

5:13 A.M. – Suspicious male trying the doorknob of a residence on Range Road 5-0 & Twp Rd 37-2, Clearwater County. The dog barked waking up the owner who seen the individual sprinting down the driveway.

1:30 P.M. – Lock cut off gate at entrance to gravel pit at Horburg, west of Rocky Mountain House. Fuel was stolen from pieces of equipment along with batteries and small hand tools.

7:04 P.M. – Gate cable cut at property on Range Road 6-0 & Twp Rd 40-4, Clearwater County. Tire and foot prints seen around the property.

8:27 P.M. – Commercial alarm at a Rocky Mountain House tire store. Police located a male hiding in an adjacent property and subsequently arrested him.

9:24 P.M. – Call of a single vehicle collision north of Sec. Hwy #598, on Range Road 6-3. Police attended and arrested the lone male occupant who failed the Mandatory Alcohol Screening test. Breath samples were provided well over the legal limit. Charges are pending. The accused will appear in court at a later date.

11:36 P.M. – Call of an intoxicated female at a residence on the O’Chiese First Nations Reserve, damaging property. Police arrested the individual who is facing charges of Mischief and violating previous release conditions.

November 14

5:08 A.M. – Police were called to assist EMS with a person who had a gunshot wound to his arm at a residence on the O’Chiese First Nations Reserve. He was taken to a Calgary hospital in stable condition.

November 15

6:06 A.M. – Abandoned 32 foot Prowler RV trailer found in the industrial area of Rocky Mountain House. The registered owner was contacted and confirmed that it had been stolen from Red Deer.

4:29 P.M. – Report of trespassers who moved bales of hay and cut the lock off a gate on Range Road 5-5 & Twp Rd 36-4, in the Caroline area.

5:35 P.M. – B&E reported to seasonal property on Range Road 5-5 & Twp Rd 37-1, Clearwater County. The residence was entered and rummaged through. Under investigation.

6:40 P.M. – Call of an abandoned vehicle at a residence on the O’Chiese First Nations Reserve. Vehicle determined to have been stolen 12 days prior from the Buster Creek area. The vehicle was towed and the registered owner was contacted.

November 16

6:49 A.M. – Complaint of Fraud as a male was trying to sell a vehicle on Kijiji and collecting deposits from multiple people.

8:11 A.M. – Call of a suspicious newer brown Dodge pickup truck hanging around the Leslieville Hotel all weekend with various/changing items in the box. Police attended and recovered the stolen pickup truck and arrested two individuals.

9:02 A.M. – Attempted theft of a 2005 GMC Sierra pickup truck from a residence on the Sunchild First Nations Reserve.

8:37 P.M. – Call of a suspicious vehicle by the Pine Grove Cemetery. Police attended and arrested the driver who had outstanding warrants from Edmonton.

November 17

7:53 A.M. – Ground cable wire and battery stolen from a lease site in Clearwater County.

8:48 A.M. – Theft of a white 2005 Ford F250 with CO-OP decals stolen from south end gas bar.

November 18

8:12 A.M. – B&E into Shunda Fire Base camp within the last week. ATCO trailer on site broken into and vandalized. Under investigation.

9:16 A.M. – Theft of fuel from a dozer overnight at a work site on Range Road 5-0 and Twp Rd 40-4, Clearwater County.

5:44 P.M. – Police called to assist Fish & Wildlife with illegal hunters trespassing on private land. Under investigation.

8:22 P.M. – Report of a pedestrian shot with an air-soft gun while walking on 50 Ave near 54 St. in Rocky Mountain House. Suspect vehicle is a dark blue Hyundai Elentra. Another call was received 2 hours later from a Rocky Mountain House resident who advised he was shot in the eye while shovelling his driveway. He received medical attention at the hospital.

8:41 P.M. – Theft of a white utility trailer from the Ram River Gas Plant.

9:43 P.M. – Report of 2 male suspects attempting to break into a residence on 70 Ave, Rocky Mountain House. Suspects fled prior to police arrival.
