Red Deer down to 105 active COVID-19 cases

Red Deer saw a drop in active COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, going from 116 as of Monday to 105.

Recovered cases are up 12 to 229, while total number of cases attributed to the city has risen by one to 334.

Across the province, 773 new cases were reported to bring Alberta’s total since the start of the pandemic to 40,962.

The number of active cases in the province rose by 37 over the past 24 hours to 10,068.

Recovered cases in Alberta are up by 731 to 30,462.

Alberta has recorded five more deaths from COVID-19 to bring the total to 432.

There are 268 Albertans in hospital because of the virus as of Tuesday, an increase of four, while 57 remain in intensive care.

The number of tests completed over the past 24 hours is unavailable as Alberta Health continues to deal with ongoing website issues.

Red Deer County has 13 active cases as of Tuesday, a decrease of one, while Sylvan Lake remains with eight.

Lacombe has 19 active cases, three less than Monday, whereas Lacombe County held steady with 11.

Rocky Mountain House remains with six active cases, Mountain View County dropped one for a total of 13, and Olds added two for a total of three. Kneehill County is down to seven active cases, while Starland County and the County of Stettler each have one.

Meantime, the numbers continue to rise in Ponoka County where there are now 94 active cases, up from 89 on Monday.

Red Deer, Lacombe, Lacombe County, Ponoka County, Mountain View County are under ‘enhanced’ status by the province, meaning additional measures are in place to help limit spread of the virus.
