Monday a warm one for Red Deer, but not record-setting

Red Deer did not set a new record temperature on Monday, but plenty of other Alberta communities did.

The mercury rose to 18.7 °C in Red Deer yesterday, according to Environment Canada.

The record for our city for November 2 is 20.6°C set in 1949.

Stettler reached 22.8 degrees yesterday to break their previous Nov. 2 record of 18.9 set in 1949.

Sundre set a new record of 19.5 yesterday, breaking their previous mark of 16.6 from 2008 (records in this area have been kept since 1993).

Three Hills hit 22.2 degrees on Monday to eclipse their previous record of 21.1 set in 1949.

And the Breton area reached 18.0 degrees to better their previous record of 16.1 set in 2008.

Alberta’s hot spot on Monday was Drumheller, which reached a sweltering 25.9 degrees to best their 1978 record of 21.7.
