Semi driver stopped by fake police car near Consort: RCMP
Mounties in central Alberta are investigating after a semi driver was reportedly pulled over by fake police car.
Consort RCMP say it was at about 10:40 a.m. Monday when the driver of a semi-tractor headed southbound on Highway 41 north of Consort, near Highway 599, thought he was being pulled over by a police vehicle with lights that were activated.
RCMP say the driver recognized that the two suspects were not dressed in police uniforms and immediately confronted them after one of them demanded money from the victim while outside the semi-tractor.
The two suspects then fled back into their vehicle and were last seen heading southbound on Highway 41 towards Consort. No weapons were seen.
