Pigskin picks payoff big time for Mirror man

Donald Hekob of Mirror is basking in a $173,595 windfall after he successfully predicted the results of every single NFL game on his Sport Select Pools card for September 13.

Hekob, a regular Pools player, was able to correctly guess the outcomes of 15 games on a $5 ticket he picked up earlier the day of the games from the Mirror General Store.

He says he realized he was winning as he watched the games, but that the nail-biting final game between Tennessee and Denver meant he wasn’t totally sure he had won.

“I was so drained from watching the last game since it went down to the final seconds,” he laughed while claiming his prize.

Hekob says he wound up using the ticket checker at the General Store a couple of days after the games to scan his ticket half a dozen times before he could believe he was taking home the whole $173,595 prize.
