Maskwacis RCMP investigating fatal pedestrian collision

RCMP in Maskwacis are investigating a fatal collision involving a pedestrian on Highway 2A Monday night.

Mounties came across the scene about three kilometres north of Maskwacis while on patrol around 10:30 p.m.

Police say EMS attended and the 51-year-old male pedestrian, from Ermineskin First Nation, was declared deceased as a result of the collision.

The vehicle, which had been travelling on Highway 2A when it collided with the male who was in the northbound lane, remained on scene.

At the time of the collision, visibility was poor as a result of a rain/snow mix.
