Alberta updates COVID-19 numbers for July 22

Alberta is reporting another 133 cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday.

That brings the overall number of cases in the province to 9,728.

The number of active cases in Alberta rose by 58 to 1,251.

Recoveries have risen by 73 to 8,436.

A total of 102 people are in Alberta hospitals because of the virus, including 18 who are intensive care.

The death toll from COVID-19 in Alberta has risen by two to 174.

Alberta has now completed 606,465.

The number of active cases in the Central Zone is 153, up from 145 on Tuesday. There have been 112 recoveries and 34 people in the zone are in hospital, including six in intensive care.

In Red Deer, the number of active cases remains 12 and there have been 39 recoveries.

Other current active cases in the zone include 20 in the County of Stettler, 11 in Kneehill County, 11 in the County of Paintearth, four in Red Deer County (decrease of two), four in Sylvan Lake (increase of one), nine in Lacombe County (increase of one) and seven in Ponoka County (decrease of one).
