Drayton Valley RCMP weekly report: July 9-16

July 9

8:17 am – Drayton Valley – 43 Street – Complainant reporting an assault which occurred the previous evening near the skate park. Male was walking near the skate park when a grey Ford F150 pulled up and six males got out and beat him up. Male has lacerations, choke marks. Suspects are known to the victim. Members attended, statement and photos taken.

10:45 am – Drayton Valley – 49 Street – complainant called to report their daughter broke into their house while they were on vacation. Complainant received an alarm notification. Members located daughter who admitted to breaking into the residence. Daughter arrested and charged.

2:17 pm – Drayton Valley – Greenwood Trailer court – complainant reporting suspicious activity. Silver Dodge backed up to a trailer and used bolt cutters to obtain access to the shed. Home owner was taken by EMS a few days prior. Suspect is putting some items into the box of the truck.

2:26 pm – Drayton Valley – 52 Avenue – Complainant reporting suspicious activity. Female started screaming at the complainant. Female has slim build, short blond hair and wearing blue and pink leggings. Members located known female who was arrested and released when sober.

2:56 pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant attended the detachment to report their ex was threatening them. Ongoing investigation.

3:34 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting a fraudulent transaction while pre-paying for gas. Unknown person took their gas. Matter still under investigation. Video surveillance available.

3:34 pm – Drayton Valley – 49 Street – Complainant reporting a family member punched them in the face. Complainant left the residence. Member attended location of complainant who was very upset.

4:57 PM – Drayton Valley- Omniplex – Complainant reporting a male punching the side window of a Grey Lincoln SUV. When asked what they were doing, Male advised it was their vehicle. Member made patrols, vehicle was GOA.

6:16 pm – Drayton Valley – 49 Avenue – Complainant reporting an intoxicated male walked through their yard. Complainant spoke to male and requested they not walk on their lawn. A verbal argument ensued. Male wearing a black shirt and shorts and holding a beer. Members attended area, male not located at that time. A second report of same male leaning on the complainants vehicle came in.

7:17 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant reporting a minor collision between a Semi and a truck. Vehicle in front was making a left hand turn and hit the brakes hard, the semi touched the truck as they swerved to get around it. No injuries.

9:29 pm – Drayton Valley – 52 Street – Complainant reporting a family dispute. Members attended, male arrested for assault and held for hearing and remanded into custody.

11:11 pm – Brazeau County – Members called to respond to a complaint of a loud party. Approximately 20 people playing loud music. Members attended and spoke with homeowner. No more issues.

July 10

12:15 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting known male and female are in store and they have been previously banned. Members attended, both had already left. Patrols located male and female, they were spoken to and advised not to return.

4:50 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting intoxicated person walking on the road. Members attended and located known male who was extremely intoxicated and sleeping in the middle of the parking lot. Male arrested for public intoxication and released when sober.

12:29 pm – Drayton Valley – Weycan Drive – complainant reporting a suspicious person on the property. They had a break and enter earlier this week. Member attended and met with complainant. Male had left prior to arrival. Member made patrols looking for a male wearing a black sweater, dark jeans and a black backpack. Male not located.

12:35 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Complainant reporting dog was stolen. Dog belonged to person who had passed away.

1:00 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Complainant reporting neighbourhood kids are bothering them. They swore at them and threw pebbles near them. Member wanted them warned. Members attended and spoke with individuals involved. Warning provided.

3:40 pm – Drayton Valley – 62 Street – Complainant reporting a break and enter which occurred sometime between the 3rd and 10th of July. Fence cut and copper wire stolen.

4:01 pm – Brazeau County – Complainant reporting an abandoned vehicle on access road before brazeau reservoir. Vehicle is a beige car. Vehicle has been there for a couple of weeks. Members attended and located vehicle which was unlocked in middle of lease site road. Vehicle towed, Registered Owner advised.

6:06 pm – Drayton Valley – Dodson Plaza – Complainant reporting road rage. Complainant advised that they were dropping off children for exchange when their ex attempted to hit them. Vehicle and driver located at WalMart. All were fine. Advised to watch their manner of driving.

6:14 pm – Drayton Valley – 49 Avenue – Complainant reporting they had a no contact order against ex, but has been allowing them to live in their shed. When complainant threatens to call police, ex looses temper, now changed their mind and doesn’t want ex there anymore. Members attended. Male not located. Still under investigation.

6:17 pm – Drayton Valley – 46 Avenue – Complainant reporting theft from boat overnight. Propeller stolen off boat.

10:05 pm – Brazeau County – Twp rd 491 – Complainant reporting their neighbours have been shooting guns since 7 pm. Members attended and found people shooting at targets. They agreed to stop for the day.

11:43 pm – Brazeau County – complainant reporting loud party going on. Has been going on since the previous day. Member spoke with the owner of the property who advised they were shutting it down.

July 11

12:03 am – Drayton Valley – 46 Avenue – Residential alarm going off. Several locations. Members attended and located a house party at residence. Owners son present, however parents did not know about party. Parents requested party be shut down. Members advised son.

12:51 am – Drayton Valley – Country side Trailer Court – Complainant reporting a suspicious person in a dark hoodie walking through the backyard. Member attended and located male who was driving a quad. Member attempted a traffic stop, quad took off. Member returned to residence, no signs of forced entry. No signs of theft. Search for male on quad were negative.

1:53 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Members called to an unknown situation, possibly a break and enter in progress. Members attended, complainant advised that the motion detector went off and there were people in the yard. Members walked through the yard, no one observed, no damage.

1:56 pm – Drayton Valley – complainant reporting intoxicated female is outside the recycling center, staggering and weaving. Complainant is concerned they will be struck by vehicle. Members attended, female not located.

3:52 pm – Drayton Valley – 20 Avenue – Complainant reporting an erratic driver in a white Chevrolet Tahoe, cutting people off. Two females in vehicle. Vehicle located and driver provided warning regarding their manner of driving.

4:11 pm – Drayton Valley – 47 Street – Request to assist EMS with female who had fallen. Members attended, EMS took over minor injuries.

6:42 pm – Drayton Valley – Country Style Trailer Court – Complainant reporting their quad was stolen overnight. Quad was associated to a call received the previous evening when the quad took off on member. Quad is a Red 2008 Honda.

10:03 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 –Complainant reporting a erratic driver in a green late 90’s F150 with a canopy. Driver was on the phone. Complainant went to pass the suspect vehicle when they got upset and gave them the finger and began swerving at complainant.

11:16 pm – Drayton Valley – 52 Avenue – Complainant reporting loud music coming from the community hall by the swimming pool. Members attended, Wedding reception, asked them to turn down the music which they did.

July 12

1:32 am – Brazeau Dam Campground – Request members assistance at side-by-side rollover at the campground. Victim suffering from head injuries. Members attended, all witnesses were extremely uncooperative. Matter still under investigation.

7:01 am – Drayton Valley – 49 Street – Fire department requesting assistance from members at a vehicle fire. Vehicle was started on fire, possible suspect vehicle and suspects. Members attended and obtained witness statements. Matter is still under investigation.

8:27 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant reporting a possible drunk driver near the Wiley West Campground. Vehicle is a white grand am. All occupants were located safe.

2:57 pm – Drayton Valley – Canadian Tire – Complainant reporting friends ex has been following them and driving past residence and work for last two weeks. Member contacted both parties. Suspect advised they were not following anyone but was in neighbourhood for work purposes. Advised tpo stay away from complainant.

3:31 pm – Drayton Valley – 43 Avenue – Complainant reporting their neighbour is yelling at them and there is going to be a fight. Members attended, neighbourhood dispute, did not escalate beyond words being exchanged. Both parties were warned and calmed down.

3:35 pm – Drayton Valley – 52 Street – 2 complaints received reporting intoxicated female screaming unintelligible things. Known female. Members attended and located female who agreed to go home and was provided with a courtesy ride.

3:41 pm – Drayton Valley – Independent parking lot – Complainant reporting they were parked at the store and when they returned they observed their passenger door had been hit on their Black Ford F150. Matter still under investigation.

3:59 pm – Drayton Valley – 58 Avenue – Complainant reporting a break and enter to trailers and sea cans in yard. Entry made by kicking in doors on sea cans.

5:14 pm – Brazeau County – RR 65 – Complainant reporting they got into a verbal argument with family member after drinking all day. Family member has left the residence and complainant is concerned they will attempt to drive.

8:48 pm – Drayton Valley – RR 85 – Complainant reporting family member had been sending them angry texts regarding guardianship.

10:11 pm – Drayton Valley – 49 Avenue – Complainant reporting a loud argument at neighbours residence. Members attended, family dispute between brother and sister.

11:14 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Complainant requested members conduct a wellbeing check on person who is staying in the tire compound in a trailer. Members attended, 2 children in attendance. Male arrested for being intoxicated.

11:20 PM – Drayton Valley – 48 Street – Complainant reporting someone breaking into the pool. Member attended, cleaning staff present. No signs of forced entry.

July 13

3:47 am- Brazeau County – Twp Rd 492 – Complainant called and advised that they were stranded west of Drayton Valley after they snuck out. Members attended and located callers who were given a courtesy ride home.

4:28 am – Brazeau County – hwy 621 – Complainant advised they were on their way to work when they observed several head of cattle on the road.

8:07 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant reporting a deceased deer on the highway. Complainant hit the deer and it is deceased in the east bound lane. Member made patrols, deer not located.

8:40 am – Drayton Valley – Canadian Tire – Complainant reporting they found a black garbage bag full of tools behind the Canadian Tire on the running bath.

11:55 am – Drayton Valley – 51 Avenue – Complainant reporting a break and enter to the telus building in Drayton Valley. Members attended and cleared the building. Entry made through the front door. Evidence of people living in the building, however no one inside.

12:44 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Complainant stated that they were pulling out of the parking lot when they collided with the yellow gates causing damage to the front drivers bumper.

1:23 pm – Brazeau County – complainant reporting a break and enter to the Storage centre. Entry made by cutting a hole in the fence. Once inside culprits cut the locks on 3 storage cans and rifled through 2 unlocked RV’s.

2:48 pm – Drayton Valley – Power Centre Blvd. – Complainant reporting a black or blue Volkswagen Jetta is being driven erratically. Vehicle passed the complainant on a blind curve, and was speeding. Members located vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. Driver issued a violation ticket for operation of a motor vehicle without a drivers licence.

7:29 pm – Drayton Valley – 48A Avenue – EMS requested police assistance with a call involving a dog attack. Members attended, Male victim taken to hospital. Matter forwarded to Animal control and Bylaw.

9:29 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – complainant reporting people in the store arguing with them and had stolen some items. Members attended. One party is banned from the store. Ticket to be issued.

9:38 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 621 – Complainant reporting an erratic driver in a red sports car. Vehicle is speeding up and down the street and complainant is concerned as there are children in the area. Member attended and performed patrols of the area, vehicle not located.

10:04 pm – Drayton Valley – 46 Street – Complainant attended the detachment to speak with a member regarding in laws that had come and spoken previously with another member regarding complainants ex. Complainant wanted to advise that they were not harassing the ex, but they owed them money. Both parties were advised that this is a civil matter and they need to get a lawyer to work things out.

July 14

1:27 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 753 – Complainant reporting a yellow Chevrolet single cab truck is at a lease site. Members attended, vehicle not located.

8:02 am – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported that their 13 year old daughter had gone missing. Daughter had left the previous night. Members were able to locate the daughter who had left due to an argument with parents.

8:48 am – Drayton Valley – 47 Street – complainant attended the detachment to advise that they had received a call from someone claiming to be from Service Canada. Complainant provided the person with their SIN number and also requested they send them $1000. Complainant did not send the money. Public is reminded that Service Canada will not call you and request money in the form of Gift Cards.

12:04 pm – Drayton Valley – 53 Avenue – Complainant reporting that their landlord has cut off power to their apartment. Complainant advised that they had called FORTIS who stated that they did not do it. Member spoke with the complainant who advised they would deal with the matter civilly.

12:09 pm – Drayton Valley – Meier Avenue – Request to assist EMS with a individual who is acting violent. Members attended. Upon arrival, EMS had the individual under control and members were no longer required.

1:10 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – complainant reporting theft of a licence plate sometime over the past two days.

3:17 PM – Brazeau County – Hwy 759 – Complainant called the detachment to report their son missing. Investigation revealed that their son was in Grande Prairie.

3:50 pm – Brazeau County – 62 Street – Complainant reporting they were almost rear ended when they stopped at a set of lights. Vehicle was a Green Nissan Altima with BC plates. Vehicle was located and was involved in a collision with a Dodge Ram. Driver was injured and taken to hospital. Vehicle towed.

4:17 pm – Drayton Valley – Walmart – complainant reporting a hit and run while parked in the parking lot. Suspect vehicle is a white car. Damage to back bumper on complainants Red Dodge Caravan. Witnesses stopped the suspect vehicle. Members attended.

5:03 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant requesting police as an individual is being very rude and swearing.

8:03 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting someone broke into their GMC Sierra and attempted to steal the vehicle. Damage to ignition and steering column.

8:17 pm – Drayton Valley – Carlton East – Complainant reporting an unwanted male is being confrontational. Male confronted complainant in the stairwell about their doing laundry. Member attended and spoke with all parties.

9:02 pm – Drayton Valley – coach Motel – Complainant reporting 2 males are outside waving their arms around and throwing things at vehicles. Members attended and located known females. Females advised that a male in a Red Dodge Truck had started screaming at them while driving.

10:25 pm – Drayton Valley – Aurora School – Complainant advising of an audible alarm going off from a vehicle at the school for the past 10 minutes. Members conducted patrols in area, alarm had stopped.

11:45 pm – Drayton Valley – Madsen Avenue – Member on patrol when vehicle behind started to flash their lights at police. Member pulled over, driver of vehicle requested directions to hospital as passenger was having a medical emergency. Member provided an escort to hospital.

July 15

2:13 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting a suspicious person in the parking lot looking into vehicles. Member attended and checked parking lot out, no person observed and no damage to vehicles. Complainant advised they did not actually see anyone, just thought someone was there.

2:52 am – Drayton Valley – 46 Street – Complainant reporting they were texting with their ex and they do not like the response they received. Complainant would like to speak to members. Member contacted complainant who was very intoxicated. Ongoing issue.

6:56 am – Drayton Valley – 47 Avenue – Complainant reporting a barking dog which is disturbing the peace. Ongoing issue. Members attended and advised dog owner to bring dog inside.

1:40 pm – Drayton Valley – 58 Avenue – Complainant reporting a break and enter to storage bays sometime overnight. Several storage bays were broken into. Locks on the bays were broken off.

6:53 pm – Parkland County – Complainant reporting an erratic driver in a dark blue Volkswagen Passat. Vehicle has 2 female occupants. Member located vehicle at a motel parking lot. Vehicle towed as there was no licence plate.

7:47 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting a male and female are in the Scotia Bank using the ATM machines. Complainant then observed the female punch the male in the face several times. Complainant advised that they had headed east on 46 Street. A second call was received from a known female who advised that their ex boyfriend is trying to get into the apartment. Female intoxicated and male will not give their bank card back. Male very intoxicated. Female arrested for assault and held for a JIR hearing.

9:41 pm – Drayton Valley – 46 Street – Complainant reporting a male is back and pounding on the door. Male was the victim from previous assault file. Members attended, Male was trying to gain entry to his apartment. Landlord let male inside.

July 16

5:55 am – Brazeau County – Country Style Trailer court – Complainant reporting vandalism to their vehicle. Window on their van had been broken sometime overnight.

6:19 am – Drayton Valley – Econorest – Complainant reporting a couple arguing in the alley. Male is being aggressive and pointing at female’s chest. No physical contact observed. Members attended.
