WATCH: Premier Kenney announces relaunch strategy for Alberta economy

Premier Jason Kenney will unveil plans for the staged relaunch strategy for Alberta’s economy.

He’ll do so during a news conference scheduled for 3:30 p.m. that you can watch here.

Kenney has said the plan will be similar to Saskatchewan’s.

Last week, Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe announced a five-step reopening plan starting with medical services such as dentists, optometrists and physical therapy on May 4.

Golf courses could be allowed to reopen on May 15, followed on May 19 by retail shops that sell clothing, flowers, books, sporting goods and toys.

Other restrictions on businesses and large gatherings would follow, with strict monitoring on outbreaks and cases at each stage.

Also at Thursday’s news conference, Dr. Deena Hinshaw, Alberta’s chief medical officer of health, will discuss the latest numbers when it comes to COVID-19 in the province.
