Nova Scotia RCMP schedule briefing on investigation into mass killing
HALIFAX — The Nova Scotia RCMP have confirmed they will provide an update today on their investigation into the killing of 22 people on earlier this month.
The briefing, to be held at the Mounties’ provincial headquarters in Dartmouth, will be led by Supt. Darren Campbell, the officer in charge of support services for Nova Scotia.
The Mounties last held a news conference on Friday, when Campbell disclosed a detailed timeline of the killings, which started the night of Saturday, April 18, and continued for the next 13 hours.
Police have yet to speculate about a motive, though they have confirmed the killer’s rampage started after he assaulted his long-term girlfriend in Portapique, N.S.
