The tragic fatal shootings of what is known to be at least 22 victims including one RCMP officer in Nova Scotia over the weekend, has garnered an outpouring of support for the RCMP in Red Deer.

Sgt. Karen Kay says local well-wishes and support makes members of Red Deer’s RCMP detachments feel very lucky to police in this community.

“The citizens of Red Deer have always supported the RCMP,” says Kay. “Recently today, we had Albert’s Restaurant show their appreciation by dropping off lunch and several containers of chicken wings were delivered to the detachment.”
