Webinar examines workforce management during pandemic

The Red Deer and District Chamber of Commerce is offering a free human resources webinar entitled “COVID-19 – Managing the Strategic Impact on Your Workforce.”

“It is clear in everyone’s mind now that this global pandemic will have a profound and long-lasting impact on our economy,” the chamber says in a release. “The economy itself will eventually recover, as it has always done historically. But most importantly, it is the people who make up the workforces necessary for the recovery who will need to have recovered.”

The chamber says how people are being treated by their employer during this crisis is not only key in their ability to continue to perform and serve their clients, but also in maintaining their level of engagement with their employer while they were laid off.

“This severe emotional experience will likely drive their willingness to continue to be part of their employer’s team once the COVID 19 era is over.”

The leader for the webinar, happening this Friday, April 17, is Mario G. Patenaude, who leads RSM Canada’s People & Organization team in Canada. Patenaude has held several Human Resources and communications executive leadership roles for admired global organizations, and is known as a business transformation, crisis management, and mergers and acquisitions leader.
