Red Deer cheerleaders show spirit despite cancelled trip to Worlds
A talented group of 17 athletes, as well as coaches and parents, from Red Deer’s Premier Academy were supposed to be preparing over the coming days for a trip to Orlando.
The group was set to compete at the Cheerleading World Championships from April 24-26, but a global pandemic had other plans for them.
“Although it has been disappointing for everyone, we all know it is the right thing to do and has forced us to really think outside the box,” says Riana Luck, owner.
“Community and staying active are important to everyone’s mental health right now. That’s why we quickly transitioned to offering Virtual Classes and practices for all our families. They have provided the opportunity for athletes and families to stay connected and still stay active.”
