Aspire Special Needs Resource Centre announces new executive director

Aspire Special Needs Resource Centre has announced that JoAnne Hayden has accepted the position of Executive Director, effective May 1.

Hayden has spent the last 17 years being an integral part of the Aspire team, working towards their mission of providing hope to children with special needs, the families who love them and the communities that care for them.

“We are excited to have someone progress through the organization to this level, bringing not only her strengths and talents, but her love for Aspire and her willingness to support the mission and the culture,” said Robin Armitage, Board Chair.

With a background in human services, Hayden began her tenure with Aspire in the Early Intervention Program, providing in home support to families with children with developmental delays or disabilities. Later transitioning into the position of Intake Coordinator, she provided support, encouragement, information and direction to families and community partners requiring services.

Hayden also performed the responsibilities of Leadership Coach and Trainer for Aspire staff and teams, fostering the internal growth of Aspire values: We Care, We Work Together, We Are Leaders, and We Believe in Potential.

Hayden also serves as the Program Supervisor for the Transdisciplinary Assessment & Consultation (TAC) Program, and Aspire’s Privacy Officer.

“I am looking forward to the challenges of this position. I know with the support of the Aspire Board, staff and community, we will continue the amazing work that Aspire is doing for children and families in central Alberta,” said Hayden.

Hayden founded her coaching practice in 2010 as part of her own vision to transform lives through leadership development, improving relationship skills and individual growth. By combining her background in human services and coaching skills, she was able to support organizational cultures in our community by improving the quality of working life for employees, leaders and those served by the organization.

Hayden resides in Red Deer and has called Central Alberta her home for most of her life.
